day and sharing her interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/mindfulleader.net\/\">Michael Bunting<\/a>, a globally recognised authority on mindfulness and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Last year I spent 2 days (2 very mindful, intense days!) with a wonderful group of coaches, facilitators and leaders to learn from Michael the <strong>fundamentals and science<\/strong> behind mindfulness, the <strong>habits that get in the way<\/strong> of mindfulness and then <strong>how<\/strong> <strong>to introduce people to the practice of mindfulness<\/strong> in a one day workshop setting.<\/p>\n<p>It was a profound experience; thoughtful, intentional, rich with facts from research and at times, uncomfortable, but in a good way, as we learnt how to sit with the many thoughts and feelings that our minds unleash.\u00a0 The small group setting, blended with expert guidance from Michael and the company of very talented people, encouraged honest and challenging conversation.\u00a0 This was the start of my formal corporate mindfulness coaching practice and it was like discovering a precious gem on my development path.\u00a0 That Michael has placed trust in me to present and share his research and insights is quite humbling.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-584 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/partlettconsulting.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/intro-to-mindfulness-cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"705\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/partlettconsulting.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/intro-to-mindfulness-cropped.jpg 705w, https:\/\/partlettconsulting.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/intro-to-mindfulness-cropped-300x155.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 705px) 100vw, 705px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since then, I&#8217;ve found the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.awakenedmind.com\/\">Awakened Mind<\/a> app to be a great source of learning and support.\u00a0 I say this often; the amount of information in this app is <strong>phenomenal, <\/strong>it really has been brilliantly constructed for it&#8217;s purpose.\u00a0 Every time I fire up my Awakened Mind app to watch an interview, listen to an audio book or listen to a guided meditation, it feels like I\u2019m being re-immersed into those 2 days.\u00a0 Today, reading Ezgi&#8217;s article has had the same effect (thank-you Ezgi Tasdemir!).<\/p>\n<p>A couple of quotes from the interview in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ezgitasdemir4?lang=en\">Ezgi&#8217;s<\/a> article:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>\u201cMindfulness teaches leaders to still the mind and stay focused. <\/em><em><strong>People want the presence and attention of their leaders. <\/strong>Our research from 4000 observers and about 500 leaders has shown that <strong>being calm, clear, grounded and focused (especially under pressure) are the top 5 qualities <\/strong>people want from their boss, out of 83 leadership qualities.\u201d \u2013 Michael Bunting<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>&#8220;You can be having tough conversations with someone, or even firing someone. <strong>But it is always done from a place of kindness, care and compassion.<\/strong>&#8220;\u2013 Michael Bunting<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>It makes<\/strong> <strong>so much sense<\/strong>;
